On the 19th and 20th of June, 13 students from Wauchope High School took part in the Lower North Coast Dance Festival at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie.
The junior dance group consisted of Lyla C, Sophie C, Shantai B, Ayla H, Elle-Lea P and Leoni C. They performed a beautiful lyrical routine to Adele’s ‘Set Fire To the Rain’. Their performance on Wednesday night was beautiful, as was their decorum and behaviour backstage.
Our senior dance group consisted of Year 11 students. Eleanore J, Abby-Rose F, Miah A, Marney R, Grace W, Abigail G and Tayha H performed a dark contemporary piece to Derek Fiechter’s instrumental song “Dark Dollhouse”. Our senior group performed both Wednesday and Thursday night as they were selected to perform for the final showcase evening.
They were outstanding performers and demonstrated the utmost respect for themselves and others. A special mention to Marney R who was one of 10 students selected in the North Coast Senior Ensemble - a selective group in the LNCDF who performed their own routines which were outstanding.
