Wauchope High School Open Girls’ Volleyball Team played Toormina High School in the North Coast Finals of the Steve Birt Shield on Tuesday 28th May 2024. This was a very evenly matched game with some highly skilful and amazing offensive volleyball played by both teams. Wauchope were able to prevail on the day in straight sets winning 3 – 0 and earning their place as the North Coast Team A in the knockout finals to be played in Sydney Olympic Park in week 1 of term 3. This continues the incredibly high level of volleyball that Wauchope High School has been able to produce over many years and is a deserved reward for the dedication and effort these players have put into their training over the last 2 years.
Amarlie and Taneisha, as CHS players in 2024, will have an enjoyable job leading this team into the finals, and expectations and spirits are very high in the team to perform at their best. Well done to all of the team members, some who are only just beginning their volleyball journey and we wish them the very best of luck at this tournament.
