Volleyball success

Wauchope High School students Amarlie and Taneisha competed in the NSW All Schools Open Volleyball Championships in Alexandria on Friday 21st June as members of the NSWCHSSA Open Girls Volleyball team selected in Nowra in March this year.

This tournament is the highest level of representation that school students can reach for their state in NSW. This team defeated the Combined Catholic Colleges in the final in 3 straight sets to win the All-Schools gold medal and the title of NSW All Schools Champions in 2024. Amarlie and Taneisha were outstanding in this team, playing in every game, and demonstrating skill levels that would not look out of place in any national team at the opens level. This also highlights the incredible and elite level of the volleyball program that Wauchope High School has sustained to develop players of this capacity in a small regional area. It is worth noting that Wauchope High and Mackellar Girls Secondary Campus were the only schools to have multiple representatives in this elite level team, again highlighting our amazing program at Wauchope High School.

Congratulations to these 2 athletes and their team on this achieving this outstanding result.
