Twelve Wauchope High students made the long trek north to Kingscliff to challenge themselves against the best athletes from within the Lower North Coast and the other three zones of the North Coast Region.
In order to reach the State Carnival, competitors needed to achieve either first or second place in their event. Four of our students were cruelly pushed into third place, with Riley beaten by one centimetre in the 15s Shot Put.
All of our athletes performed to their best and enjoyed the nice conditions at Walter Peate Oval, but only two of them will be going to Homebush later this term for the CHS Carnival. Zachary and Dominic got through in the 15s and 16s Shot Put, which is a terrific result for each of them and our school. Good luck in Sydney!
