Wauchope open girls’ volleyball team travelled to Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of July to contest the Final 20 Knockout Championship. Wauchope was placed in pool D and had the task of meeting Ryde Secondary College in the round games to make the semi finals and final 4 placings. Wauchope put up a great fight and went down 21-19 and 21-18 in 2 close sets.
Unfortunately, this loss meant we couldn’t make the semi-finals and therefore finished in the top 8 schools for 2024. This is the culmination of an incredible year in volleyball for this team and they have certainly performed some amazing feats on the court this year. Ryde Secondary College beat their opponents in the final 25 -12, 22 -25, 25 – 11, 25 – 10 giving an indication of the amazing abilities of the Wauchope team to really be the only team to challenge the overall gold medallists.
Thanks so much to Connor and Jet for their commitment and input to the weekly coaching of the elite volleyball program and the continual provision of an outstanding coaching program. Massive thanks to the parents who came and supported our efforts and for the input they provided over the years.
Wauchope High School should be very proud of this coaching program and the outstanding results we have been able to achieve over a protracted period of years. We are universally acknowledged across the state as a school of excellence in volleyball and this brings great credit to our school, our students and our broader community.
