Catching public transport

Public transport is a great way to safely get to and from school.

Catching a bus

BUSWAYS & PORT BUS transport students to and from Wauchope High School. Information regarding BUSWAYS timetable and pick up points can be found on the busways.com.au website. PORT BUS can be contacted on 026583 3330.

After school, bus travelers will assemble in the COLA to await the arrival of their buses in Nelson Street. They must not interfere with the free passage of pedestrians along the footpaths, and must behave in an appropriate manner.

Bus Pass

All high school students must reside more than 2.0 kms radial distance or 2.9 kms walking distance from the school to be eligible for a bus pass. Exemption may be granted on medical grounds. It is a condition of a student’s bus pass that they must board and depart from the bus as per the address and school that is recorded on their bus pass.

Private Car conveyance

To be eligible for subsidy, students must live more than 1.6 km walking distance from the nearest transport bus pick–up point, by the nearest practicable route. Subsidy will only be paid if a special trip each morning and afternoon is made for this purpose. Application forms should be completed online here.

Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• ensure you park safely in school zones
• follow speed signs
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.

Accessing school grounds

Nelson street is located directly Infront of Wauchope high school and is the most suitable drop off / pick up point. Wauchope high school does not provide visitor parking.
