To commemorate this day our Captains, Seth and McKenna were invited to attend the Wauchope RSL sub-Branch. They attended the commemoration service, laying a wreath. At the luncheon they were invited to speak about what this day means to them. They were privileged to engage with veterans and community members.
At school, Riley delivered a stirring Acknowledgement of Country then handed over proceedings to Vice-Captain, Jackson who ran the assembly. Fellow Vice-Captain, Ellie delivered a moving speech on the impact of the war on the participant countries including Australia. This speech was actually written by Jackson.
This was followed by the Last Post, one minute silence, the Rouse and finally the National Anthem. Wauchope students stood tall on the day reflecting the solemnness of the occasion. Well done to all!
