The 2024 Legacy Public Speaking Competition was held in the school library during Legacy Week. Students from each stage were competing for prizes and were invited to speak on any subject relating to the ideals of voluntary service, social justice, caring, personal effort, personal sacrifice and/or mateship. The student body presented a diverse range of speeches; from the Danger of Misinformation to families, to the Importance of Education.
The event was sponsored by the Port Macquarie Hasting Legacy Club, with funds from the Leventhal Legacy Scholarship. Greg Cavanagh, from Port Macquarie Hasting Legacy Club, assisted Mrs McGufficke and Mrs Howell on the judging panel. The school would like to thank the Port Macquarie Hasting Legacy Club for their ongoing support. Winners were Conner, Amelia, Jasmine and Hayden. Congratulations to these students and all who participated.
