During Term 3 our year 3-6 Birpai Buddies and staff members from Long Flat, Beechwood, Comboyne & Huntington Public School visited Wauchope High School for their Term 3 Birpai Buddies session. They were supported by our AEO Caitlin and 8 of our Aboriginal students who did an amazing job at mentoring. Together with our Aboriginal high school students, they participated in a range of cultural activities including cultural games, sharing language and knowledge, cooking, agriculture and marine studies. All of our students enjoyed their day connecting to culture, building connections and becoming more comfortable and confident in the high school environment. It was a wonderful day, and we look forward to more days like this as our Birpai Buddies program continues.
