At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

Visit Our principal and staff to learn about our wellbeing and specialist support staff.

Requesting External Services

To engage external therapist support at Wauchope High School:

Parents please fill in a Parent/carer request (181 KB) and return to the office.

If the school is in agreement with the request, progress to step 2.

Step 2:

The office then contacts the therapist requesting all documents.

Therapists must complete and return:

  1. A Service Providers Consent Form (92 KB)
  2. Current child protection training -  must be done every year
  3. Declaration for Child related workers (220 KB)

Therapists must read:

  1. Code of Conduct policy
  2. Controversial issues in schools policies and procedures
  3. Allegations against Employees in the area of child protection
  4. Principal letter (256 KB)
  5. Macleay Valley Public Schools Guidelines (119 KB)

Therapists must provide evidence of:

  1. Public liability no less than 20 million.
  2. Personal indemnity no less than 2 million.
  3. Workers compensation or personal insurance.
  4. Mandatory child protection training certificate- for current year.
  5. WWCC number of each member of staff attending this site.
  6. 2x Government issued identification types, such as Driver's License and Medicare card.

Step 3:

Please email a copy of the completed paperwork to the school email. Our school will be in contact regarding a school induction on site.

After a suitable time has been negotiated, therapy can commence.

Therapy is not to commence until therapists have received an email or phone call approving the request.

This process is to be completed at the beginning of each school year.
